Welcome to the About-page. This page will give you a short overview of what we offer.

We are situated just a few minutes walk away from the terminal building of Inverness Airport. At our museum you’ll find an outdoor exhibition of aircraft  and an Airport Fire Tender. Indoors we have an exhibition of Aviation History in the Highlands together with a Jet Age section. Our knowledgeable staff are there to answer all your questions.

The Aviation History section reflects on the first flight in the Highlands in 1912 and aviation pioneer Captain Fred Fresson. This section also provides a look at RAF Aircrew and the history of RAF Dalcross during World War II.

Next door to the Aviation History section you’ll find the Jet Age section. This section features information displays, models and artefacts.

In our outdoor exhibition you’ll find a collection of aircraft. We open up some of the cockpits so you can experience yourself what it is to sit in a fast jet. In our collection you can find the following aircraft, among others:

  • Blackburn Buccaneer S1
  • Panavia Tornado GR1
  • Hawker Hunter F1
  • Vickers Valiant B1 (Cockpit)
  • Jet Provost T3 & T4 (Cockpit)
  • HP Herald 214 (Forward Fuselage)
